Dr. Yi Wang leads a dynamic research lab with a primary focus on the intersection of metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, and bioprocess engineering. His work is dedicated to addressing critical challenges spanning agriculture, energy, environment, and health.

Dr. Wang's research portfolio encompasses:

Biofuels, Biochemicals, and Biomaterials Production: Dr. Wang's lab is at the forefront of developing innovative strategies for producing biofuels, biochemicals, and biomaterials from underutilized and low-value feedstocks. Their approach leverages metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, and bioprocess engineering to harness the full potential of sustainable bioresources.
