Spaces and Resources Available to Biological and Agricultural Engineering Students
There are a variety of areas and resources open to students in the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering. These resources help support student's success in the program and also serve as an excellent way to interact with other students in the program. Some of the most used Student Resources are listed below.
Student Computer Laboratory
Located in 3026 Bainer Hall, the Student Computer Lab is a hub of student activity. Students are free to drop by anytime to use one of the computers or the printer. Additionally, students will often gather for impromptu study or tutoring sessions. The lab features 16 computers, 4 large monitors, 2 laser printers, and 2 whiteboards.
BAE Shop
The BAE Fabrication Shop offers support services through the design and fabrication of equipment. After an initial safety training, students are welcome to use any of the shop's tools and machines. Analytical Chemistry Lab
Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the Analytical Chemistry Lab in 1322B Bainer Hall serves BAE students in need of data acquisition and analysis. The Lab is open to all students after an initial safety training. See more here.
Engineering Design Center (ESDC)
Students are also able to use the 3D printer, laser cutter and water cutter in the Engineering Student Design Center (ESDC). The ESDC facilities include the Student Machine Shop (1220 Bainer Hall) and the Specialty CNC Machine Shop (1230 Bainer Hall). These spaces offer a wide rang of resources in addition to the the 3D printer, laser cutter and water cutter including a machine shop, electronics lab, wood shop, and additive manufacturing space. The center is open to all College of Engineering students.
