Research

My research lies in several areas of sustainable food production and processing including anaerobic digestion of biomass materials, pyrolysis of biomass for the production of biochar; production of value-added products from agricultural wastes, measuring and modeling emissions of greenhouse and other gases from dairy farms, developing technologies for manure management and  nutrients recovery, novel uses of biochar, energy management in food processing, solar heating systems, applications of infrared and induction heating for food and biomass processing, technoeconomic analysis of bioprocesses, and modeling and analysis of agricultural systems
