Position Title
Graduate Student
- Biological Systems Engineering Graduate Program
TM Abir Ahsan completed his undergraduate studies in mechanical engineering at the Islamic University of Technology in Bangladesh with a focus on energy systems. His research interests are passive cooling systems, building integrated photovoltaic thermal systems (BIPVT), different solar cooling technologies, and energy simulations for the built environment. After spending several years in academia and industry he has resumed his graduate studies at the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at the University of California, Davis. He is currently working as a graduate student researcher in the Controlled Environment Engineering lab. His ongoing research is focused on finding net-zero energy pathways for sustainable and profitable indoor farming facilities.
Research Interest: Designing, control and optimization of HVAC for next generation controlled environment agricultural facilities
Fun Fact: I play snooker, table tennis and learning web design.
