Position Description
As part of UC Davis’ commitment to hire leading research faculty dedicated to the success of historically underrepresented and marginalized student communities and address the needs of our increasingly diverse state and student population, the College of Engineering at the University of California, Davis, announces an Assistant Professor faculty position in the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering. Applications are encouraged from candidates with a strong background in any current or emerging area that will fit within our department’s disciplinary focus in Food Engineering.
This is an academic year (9-month), tenure track position with teaching, research, and service responsibilities.
Qualifications
Criteria for appointment include: B.S. in engineering is required. Ph.D. in engineering is highly desired. Candidates with extensive training in engineering research during their Ph.D. but with a Ph.D. in a related, non-engineering field will also be considered; a record of excellence in scholarly research; and demonstrable potential to establish a competitively-funded research program in food engineering and processing. The appointee will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the Biological Systems Engineering program, be actively involved in student advising and mentoring, curricular development, and department, University, and professional service.
