Two BAE undergraduates win the 2016 World Food Day Video Challenge

Congratulations to Carlos Orozco-Gonzalez and Umayr Sufi, who won the 2016 World Food Day Video Challenge!  Dr. Irwin Donis-Gonzalez, the students’ advisor and UC Davis Cooperative Extension specialist said the video had to be submitted by undergraduate students, as it was a requirement of the competition.

The World Food Center publicly announced the winners during the Catherine Bertini lecture on campus, Monday, October 10, where they showcased the top two UC Davis videos. The top five videos will be promoted across the ten UC campuses, as it was a UC system-wide competition.

Since the World Food Prize International symposium starts October 12th, one student (Carlos Orozco-Gonzalez) will be traveling to Des Moines to showcase the video. The travel costs are covered by the World Food Center, and an additional monetary prize was awarded to the students.  Read more about this exciting news on the World Food Center website, and watch the video here:
